Summary

MR Cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) is the result of the development of the MR fast images techniques that allowed a new possibility in the evaluation of bilio-pancreatic diseases.

This non-invasive technique for direct visualization of the biliary ducts does not require contrast medium injection or any further biliary intervention in order to obtain optimal MRCP sequences.

MRCP sequence requires fast imaging and the availability of other complimentary techniques (artifacts reduction, fat-supperession and, in some cases, three-dimensional acquisition).
