Summary
The statistical description of sequences of attributes by some characteristies features is considered. Firstly, the structure of the sequence is studied by “serial associatión” or “Associograms”, a categorical counterpart of serial correlation or correlograms.
Secondly intra-cluster and inter-cluster association is considered for different types of cluster into which the sequence is divided. The formal coincidence of some of the measures with. Kendall’s tau is mentioned, and comparisons are made with the coefficient of intraclass correlation. Other possibilities are examined and also the multiple classification situation is briefly indicated.
