Summary
Facial pain has been described for several centuries BC. It is one of the most common reason for consulting physicians, either in general practice or a specialist. The author summarizes the neurological approach to the varied clinical entities causing facial pain, which have been classified into vascular or neuralgic types, though this opposition may become more and more artificial. The different treatments are discussed.
