Abstract
This paper is concerned with the analytic study of a duel between two opponents. A stochastic model has been developed describing the situation when both opponents hold limited amount of hits and single shot kill probabilities have been taken into account to evaluate win probabilities. The use of supplementary variable technique and Laplace transforms have been made to arrive at the results. Some particular cases have been discussed in detail. In the end, kill probabilities in the steady state are derived with the help of the corollary of Abel’s theorem of Laplace transforms.
