Summary
A SERIES of 78 cases, in which a total of 436 total urinary oestrogen estimations were carried out, has been reviewed retrospectively. It was found that the initial oestrogen estimation, irrespective of the period of gestation was a useful indicator of the fetal outcome but not of identifying a dysmature fetus in utero. A highly significant relationship was found between the fetal weight and the mean total urinary oestrogen level.
