Diffraction coefficients related to cylindrically curved soft-hard surfaces

Facteurs de diffraction relatifs a des surfaces cylindriques a cotés dur et mou

Abstract

An asymptotic solution to the problem of the diffraction of high-frequency waves by the edge of a cylindrically curved surface whose convex and concave faces present soft and hard boundary conditions is obtained. The results permit us to define new diffraction coefficients related to this kind of mixed boundary conditions. When the radius of the curvature becomes infinitely large, the edgediffraction coefficient reduces to this known for the softhard half-plane.

Analyse

L’auteur présente une solution asymptotique au problème de la diffraction de fréquence élevée sur le bord d’une surface cylindrique dont les faces convexe et concave présentent respectivement des conditions aux limites de type «dur» et «mou». Les résultats permettent de définir de nouveaux facteurs de diffraction liés à ce type de conditions aux limites. Quand le rayon de courbure devient infiniment grand, le facteur de diffraction sur le bord se ramène à celui qui est connu pour le demiplan mou d’un côté et dur de l’autre.
