The pathogenesis of senile osteoporosis

Relations to morbus cushing and basophilia of the anterior pituitary

Summary

Senile osteoporosis is due to the increase of the basophile cells of the anterior pituitary, as a result of the controlling influence of the generative glands being in a state of involution.

As a therapeutic measure, roentgen irradiation of the pituitary gland and, in mild cases, vitamin E are recommended.
