Total network management in the British Telecom digital public switched telephone network

Abstract

The benefits of an integrated digital network are well known but such a network requires careful monitoring and management to obtain the full service and cost benefits. This paper describes the strategy that British Telecom has adopted to manage its long distance digital network.

Les avantages d’un réseau numérique intégré sont bien connus mais un tel réseau requiert une gestion et un contrôle attentifs pour obtenir tous les bénéfices en termes de coût et de services. L’article décrit la stratégie adoptée par British Telecom pour gérer son réseau numérique à longue distance.
