Abstract
In reference [1], F. Molinet goes through the different diffraction coefficients which are used in geometrical theoretical diffraction. Among these coefficients, it seems that the most used is the asymptotic evaluation given by Kouyoumjian and Pathak [2], In fact, other possibilities of asymptotic evaluations exist. In this paper, all these possibilities are explored in a systematic manner leading to original formulations which keep a good accuracy and the appeal of uniform solutions. Furthermore, the notion of transition functions is derived in a mathematical manner and it is shown that the two presented methods lead to two different transition functions.
