Incidence of gastritis in gastric ulcer

  • Published:
The American Journal of Digestive Diseases

Summary

In a series of 54 patients with benign gastric ulcer, an associated gastritis was found in 74 percent. The most common form of gastritis found was the superficial variety. This is at variance with published reports.

It is to be hoped that the common use of gastrophotography and biopsies will result in closer agreement about the type of gastritis found.
