Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The etiology of xerostomia has remained obscure in spite of numerous theories advanced.

  2. 2.

    A marked curative effect was obtained with nicotinic acid in a case of xerostomia of long standing.

  3. 3.

    Nicotinic acid deficiency should be included in the etiologic considerations of xerostomia.
