Abstract

Eight oases of Acromegaly were studied for laryngeal changes. All had hypertrophied vocal cords, false cords and ary-epiglottic folds. Thyroid and cricoid cartilages were enlarged in 4 cases and hypertrophied epiglottis in 3 cases. Asymmetry of the vocal cords was noticed in 3 cases, and restricted vocal cord mobility in 1 case. Examination of vocal cord biopsy in 1 case showed epitheliomatous hyperplasia of the mucosa.
