Abstract
In this patient of Oral Sub Mucous Fibrosis we detect hyperfibrinogenaemia, cryo-fibrinogenaemia, Fibrin degradation products (or Molecules Immunologically similar to fibrinogen) and fibrin producing factor (Salivary clotting factor) in the perotid duct saliva. In the hypothesis regarding the possible mechanism of OSMF, the role of these MISFI is stressed. The fibrinogen metabolism, it is suggested, needs detailed scrutiny in order to probe in the etiology of OSMF.
