Abstract
A Groin skin tubed flap was used in the repair of a wide palatal cleft. There was a minimum of difficulties in the transfer of the flap and immediate post-operative complications, such as respiratory distress, difficulty in swallowing and aspiration of saliva. Post-operative care was easier and patient’s distress was minimum due to the non bulky nature of the tube. Though improvement of the voice was not much appreciable immediately after the operation, it is expected to be little better with softening of the skin flap and voice training.
