Abstract
Chorda tympani nerve is often sectioned in the stapedectomy operation, if it conies in the way of exposure of the stapes. The effect of this nerve section has been assessed in the post-operative period as regards to taste sensation in the anterior two thirds of the tongue and to tinnitus. The result is compared with cases, where the nerve was not sectioned.
