Abstract

Bronchoscopy has helped to clear obstruction in all cases of foreign bodies. Immediate improvement resulted in 60% cases of bronchiectasis, 62% cases of progressive primary complex, and 40% cases of collapse of the lung. Evidence of endobronchial tuberculosis such as inflammation, caseation, ulceration and granulation were found in 36% of cases of primary complex. In none of the cases was there any exacerbation of the disease process. Complications occurred in children with poor general condition.
