Abstract

Maggots in the nose is a common condition in tropical countries. There are a few reports of its extensions superiorly towards the intracranial cavity, and laterally and posteriorly to the orbit and paranasal sinuses. Reports of the maggots going inferiorly and invading the palate are few. Nasal myiasis causing soft palate perforation has been reported (Sahay, 1959). A brief mention of this condition made in an earlier report is now elaborated (Bhatia and Dayal, 1975).
