Der Fund eines gut erhaltenen Xiphosuriden von einer Halde im Kohlenrevier von Ibbenbüren aus dem Westfal C wird alsEuproops bifidus n. sp. beschrieben. Eigenarten im Bau der Gattung und der neuen Art und die ökologischen Verhältnisse werden behandelt.

A well preserved specimen of Xiphosurida, found in carboniferous layers of Westphalian C near Ibbenbüren/Westphalia, is described asEuproops bifidus n. sp. The organisation and the ecology of the genus and new species is discussed.
