Summary
-
1.
Two factors are described inAntirrhinum majus, which are lethal when homozygous;YYGG is an inviable yellow,YyGG a viable yellow,yyGG andyyGg green, andyygg an inviable white.
-
2.
These factors are linked with about 10 per cent. of crossing over. Hence the double heterozygoteYG yg gives about 9.5 yellow to 1 green, besides inviable plants;i.e. in spite of being a heterozygote it breeds nearly true.
-
3.
A periclinal white-over-green chimaera gave only white plants as seed parent. Its pollen was normal.
