Observations on the distribution of the pathogenMonosporascus eutypoides as related to soil temperature and fertigation

Abstract

The possible role of rising soil temperatures and of fertigation in predisposing melon(Cucumis melo) and watermelon(Citrullus vulgaris) to the, thermophilic ascomyceteMonosporascus eutypoides is evaluated. Emphasis is placed on the possible involvement of advanced cultivation practices in changing plant environment and morphology.
