Summary
The anatomy of the choledochoduodenal area in man is outlined. The role of sphincterotomy in pancreatitis and exploration of the common bile duct is discussed.
A mechanism by which obstruction to the pancreatic duct may follow non-function of the gall-bladder is outlined and its implication discussed.
