Summary
A sharply rising incidence of Crohn's disease in many parts of the world has been shown during the last ten years [7].
There has also been a growing awareness that Crohn's disease can involve the whole gastro-intestinal tract. The nature of the lesions of Crohn's disease in the upper GI tract is described together with the clinical, macroscopic and microscopic features of 52 patients with gastroduodenal involvement.
