Conclusion

Duodenoscopy with improved fiberduodenoscopes, the Machida FDS-L and the Olympus JF-B) is a very simple and safe examination in the gastroenterological practice. Duodenoscopy and direct biopsy with duodenoscopes have been confirmed to have the important and essential diagnostic value in duodenal diseases that is ulcer, polyp, diverticulum and malignant tumor. The duodenal papilla (of Vater) is easily observed and cannulated using this instrument, so that many applied techniques are available in order to diagnose the pancreatic and biliary diseases. Among them, endoscopic pancreatocholangiography has been established technically and proven to be one of the most essential diagnostic methods in diseases of the pancreas and the biliary system.

Duodenoscopy and its applied technique have great indication in diagnosis of the pancreatic and biliary diseases as well as the duodenal diseases, and have a great future, I believe.
