Clinical management of the choledochal cysts: two case reports

Summary

We report two cases of choledochal cysts, respectively type III and type I according to the classification of Alonso Lej. The first patient was asymptomatic, while the second was hospitalized for recurrent abdominal pain. In both cases, the definitive diagnosis was reached by endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, which in the case of choledococele provided the treatment by endoscopic sphincterotomy. The first patient underwent ineffective operation (cystenterostomy).
