Abstract
The present studywas done to evaluate the performance of short electrode, single channel, low cost cochlear implant working with analogue strategy.
Both prelingual and post lingual patients were selected for the study. Results were assessed using standard protocol established by us evaluation of these patients in the local languagues.
For two years follow up, overall results for post lingual patients are satisfactory.Incase of prelingual patients results are very encouraging as well.
If we consider the cost v/s. the performance, these low cost implents can be the ideal implant for the Indian patients.
