Peroral endoscopy of the gallbladder and retrograde cholangiography via the cystic duct

Exploration endoscopique perorale de la vésicule et cholangiographie rétrograde via le canal cystique

Summary

Endoscopic retrograde cholangiography (ERC) findings in a jaundiced patient with a history of Whipple’s operation and end-to-sidc gastrojejunostomy and end-to-side cholecystojejunostomy are reported. Endoscopy of the afferent loop of the gastrojejunostomy allowed direct visualization of the gall-bladder with retrograde contrast medium opacification of the dilated biliary tree via the cystic duct. These findings establish cholecystojejunostomy as a further access to the biliary tract for endoscopic retrograde cholangiography.

Résumé

Les auteurs rapportent les données de la cholangiographie rétrograde perendoscopique (ERCP) chez une patiente ictérique soumise précédemment à une opération de Whipple avec gastro-jéjunostomie et cholécystojéjunostomie termino-latérales. L’exploration endoscopique de l’anse afférente du montage gastro-jéjunal a permis la visualisation directe de la vésicule avec mise en évidence de voies biliaires dilatées, via l’injection de produit de contraste dans le canal cystique. Ces données illustrent unt modalité rare d’exploration endoscopique et cholangiographique rétrograde via une cholécystojéjunostomie.
