Summary
Five patients with iron deficiency due to gastric antral vascular ectasia are described. Endoscopic treatment with monopolar coagulation therapy (4 to 6 sessions) resulted in increase of haemoglobin concentrations. Iron suppletion was not necessary after treatment. No major complications were seen.
Monopolar coagulation therapy appears to be safe and may be therapy of choice for this disorder.
