Exploration fonctionnelle du sphincter d’Oddi

Functional exploration of Oddi’s sphincter

  • Published:
Acta Endoscopica

Summary

The functional exploration of sphincter of Oddi is based on two examinations. The first one, Oddi manometry addresses the biliary ducts only or the pancreatic duct and is the diagnostic reference in this field. The second examination biliary scintigraphy, has been developed since 1985 and allows for a reproducible functional evaluation of biliary clearance. We report the advantages and drawbacks of each method.
