Some observations on diagnosis and modern trends in treatment

  • Published:
Irish Journal of Medical Science (1926-1967)

Summary

Attention is drawn to the still unsettled etiology of the disease and allusion made to the most recent views in this connection.

The atypical or aberrant forms of the disease and the other dermatoses which resemble them are referred to, with some of the more important distinguishing features in each case.

The most recent methods of treatment for the various stages and regional types are indicated and special mention is made of the effective control of the disease by the combined use of ultra-violet therapy and photo-sensitising agents.
