Report on BCG vaccinations in St. Ultan’s Hospital

Summary

BCG vaccination of 411 persons is reported. Nearly half of these were highly exposed to infection by the tubercle bacillus. The series includes 51 newborns, 50 highly exposed after vaccination. Two of the whole series have developed benign primary tuberculosis. A death stated to be due to tuberculosis is discussed. The remainder are well. There was one sore arm.
