Summary

This case report describes the occurrence of single ventricle with transposition of the great vessels in a nineteen year old young man. The diagnosis was made by M-mode and cross sectional echocardiography and confirmed by angiocardiography. The cardiac abnormality is inoperable by conventional methods due to severe pulmonary hypertension. He demonstrates long-term survival with reasonable exercise tolerance, which is unusual in such severe congenital heart disease.
