Purulent pericarditis

Summary

Two fatal cases of purulent pericarditis in association with pneumonia are described, and the difficulty of diagnosis discussed. Attention is drawn to the importance of suspecting the condition in cases of sudden cardiac failure occurring during the course of lung infections.
