Editor’s Note: -The authentic personal note is a quality all too rarely encountered in our medical literature. This account of the daily life of the tuberculous patient in one of our Irish sanatoria has been written by a third-year student for his associates in the Medical Society, University College, Dublin. The youthfulnaiveté of the writer, coupled with his acuteness of observation and the high courage manifested in this narrative of personal experience, afford a combination of qualities sufficiently exceptional, in the Editor’s experience, to justify the publication of this essay in theJournal.
