Abstract
Differential gene expression in the plants at different sampling time were analyzed by using cDNA-AFLP after foliar spray of ethephon and water, respectively, at early growth stage of sugarcane. The preliminary results showed that the polymorphisms of cDNA-AFLP products were abundant; and the differential gene expressions were marked between the ethephon treatment and the control; some sequences of transcript derived fragments were high homologous to disease resistance and photosynthesis related genes. The genes of GST, Chi and MNB1b expressions were found related to the ethephon regulated resistance to diseases and adversity and photosynthesis improvement. This result provides a reference for further study to investigate molecular mechanisms of chemical regulation of ethephon in sugarcane.
