Summary
CURRENT methods of assessing behaviour discussed critically include the Bradelton Neonatal Behavioural Assessment Scale (N.B.A.S.), the Dubowitz and Dubowitz Neurological Assessment Scale, and neonatal sucking behaviour. Items from each of these methods of assessment are combined in a proposal for a neonatal behavioural assessment profile capable of producing an accurate and objective recording of neonatal behaviour.
