Pregnancy in obese mothers

Summary

One hundred and one consecutive obese pregnant patients were compared with a control group. There was a significant increase in the size of babies and hypertension in the study group. There was a trend towards more varicose veins, caesarean sections, forceps delivery and acceleration of labour in obese patients.
