Acute renal failure in leptospirosis

Summary

Although renal failure is an infrequent manifestation of leptospirosis occurring in 10% of cases, it is important because it is the main factor resulting in the overall mortality of 5%.

The prognosis, clinical features, diagnosis, course, management of 10 patients with acute renal failure due to leptospirosis are discussed.
