Conclusion
To all these questions, then, the definition and types of tuberculous empyema, its prevention, the chemotherapeutic approach, and what surgery can and cannot do to help in its cure, to all these questions, I say, we have competent and able people here to-night to provide answers. On behalf of the Irish Society of Thoracic Surgeons I would like to thank all the speakers who have come to assist us at our opening meeting. We are, as yet, a small Society, but we look forward to an increase in numbers, particularly from the younger members of our profession, who may be interested in thoracic surgery.
