Zusammenfassung

In Bögen hoher Stromstärke beobachtet man schnelle Plasmaströmungen vom Kathodenbrennfleck. Sie werden durch eigenmagnetische Kompression an Stellen hoher Stromdichte erzeugt, z.B. auch ev. am Anodenbrennfleck oder an künstlichen Einengungen. Diese Strömungen sind mitverantwortlich für die hohen Bogentemperaturen. Beweisende Versuche und Messungen werden beschrieben.
