Spezifikationsfehler beim Messen der Abhängigkeit in Kontingenztabellen

Zusammenfassung

Mißt man die Abhängigkeit zwischen zwei Variablen in einer Kontingenztabelle, so kann dies, wie bekannt, zu absurden Ergebnissen führen, wenn man eine ‘relevante’ dritte Variable außer acht läßt. Wir sprechen hier in diesem Fall von einem Spezifikationsfehler. Für den Spezialfall von Vierfeldertafeln wird dieser Spezifikationsfehler in vorliegender Arbeit mit Hilfe des Chiquadrat-Maßes quantifiziert.

Summary

It is well-known, that the measurement of interactions between two variables leads to incorrect results, when a ‘relevant’ variable has not been paid attention. We do call this error of measurement a specification error. This specification error is quantified for dichtomous variables in terms of the Chisquare-measure.
