Abstract

Protoplast formation, stabilization and regeneration was improved for 4 strains (erythromycin producers) ofSaccharopolyspora erythraea. A modified medium was developed for protoplast regeneration. Parental and protoplast-regenerated strains exhibited changes in morphology, ultrastructure, and antibiotic production.
