Abstract
The Third UN Conference on the Law of the Sea meets in New York from August 21 to September 15, 1978, for the second half of its Seventh Session. At its earlier meetings the Conference had not succeeded in mapping out a new international maritime law. The present article analyses the state of the negotiations and the problems still awaiting solution.
