Summary
Demographic micro phenomena which describe the dynamic behaviour of demographic individuals may be analyzed appropriately by means of stochastic processes. Following up Pressat [21], each demographic phenomenon may be described by two characteristics, namely its intensity (mean number of events per individual associated with the concerned phenomenon) and its timing (the distribution of those demographic events according to time). The aim of this paper is to show how finite absorbing Markov chains can be used for describing and analyzing decrement and multitype demographic phenomena.
