Summary
Some identical relations between distinguished pairs of distribution functions are examined in order to derive confidence intervals of definite parameters of these distributions.
The identities we consider are neither identities between the distribution functions of definite variables, as provided by probability theory and mathematical statistics, nor asymptotically valid relations, but, in the discrete case, an exact relation between the cumulative probabilities, over some interval, of 2 different probability laws.
At the same time we establish relations between discontinuous and continuous distributions where one distribution function corresponds to the complementary distribution function of the other one, and in most cases there is a mutual exchange between the parameter of one and the summation bounds of the other one.
