Abstract

According to the properties of the metal plastic deformation, a concept of the principal shear bands has been presented. By means of this concept, the problem of the characteristic lines of plain strain and plain stress plastic deformation has been analysed. A concept of the metal plastic theory is put forward. The principal shear bands can be considered as a basic physical character in the metal plastic deformation.
