Parity effects in neutron-nucleus interaction at low energy

Summary

Starting from microscopic calculations of nuclear level densities in the BCS approximation including the blocking effect for oddN and/orZ nuclei, a simple semi-empirical formula is proposed in order to describe the parity dependence. Consequent effects on neutron cross-sections at low energy are then investigated in the framework of the statistical Hauser-Feshbach model applied to chromium isotopes.

Riassunto

A partire da calcoli microscopici di densità di livelli nucleari nell’approssimazione BCS con l’effetto di blocco per nuclei conN e/oZ dispari, si propone una semplice formula semiempirica per introdurre la dipendenza dalla parità. I conseguenti effetti sulle sezioni d’urto neutroniche a bassa energia sono quindi studiati nell’ambito del modello statistico di Hauser-Feshbach, con riferimento agli isotopi del cromo.

Исходя из микроскопических вычислений плотностей ядерных уровнеи в Вс8 приблизении и учитывая Эффект блокировки для нечетныхN и/илиZ ядер, предлагается простая полуЭмпирическая формула для описания зависимости от четности. Жатем исследуются Эффекты в нейтронных поперечных сечениях при низких Энергиях в рамках статистической модели Хаузера-Фещбаха, применителяно к изотопам хрома.
