On the cutkosky-leon normalization conditions

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento A (1965-1970)

Summary

The Cutkosky-Leon normalization conditions for Bethe-Salpeter amplitudes play an important role in relativistic bootstrap models. These normalization conditions are here derived in several elementary ways for ordinary quantum mechanics with an energy-dependent potential, thereby exploiting the well-known and useful similarity between the techniques used for the relativistic Bethe-Salpeter theory of composite particles and the familiar methods of ordinary nonrelativistic quantum mechanics. We hope that, in further exhibiting the very simple intuitive content of the bootstrap equations in a clear fashion, this rather elementary discussion will be useful to others.
