Equal-time commutators and photoproduction sum rules

Summary

Generalized sum rules derived from equal-time commutators for arbitrary values of momentum transfer square are given for photoproduction amplitudes. In particular, it is shown that, in the decuplet dominant model, the electric quadrupole transition part of the γNN* vertex has to vanish, which seems to be true experimentally. However, the sum rule for the anomalous magnetic moments of the nucleons obtained from charged photoproduction amplitudes does not seem to hold in this approximation. Possible reasons for this discrepancy are discussed.

Si danno le regole di somma generalizzate delle ampiezze di fotoproduzione dedotte dai commutatori di tempo eguale per valori arbitrari del quadrato dell’impulso trasferito. In particolare si dimostra che nel modello con decupletto dominante la parte di transizione di quadrupolo elettrico del vertice γNN* deve annullarsi, il che sembra sperimentalmente vero. Però sembra che la regola di somma dei momenti magnetici anomali dei nucleoni ottenuti dalle ampiezze di fotoproduzione carica non valga in questa approssimazione. Si discutono i possibili motivi di questa discordanza.
