A relativistically invariant model ofSU 6 symmetry which involves infinite representations of the internal symmetry group

Summary

We study a relativisticSU 6 symmetry model based on the groupSL 6.c . It uses infinite-dimensional, unitary representations of this group as they are known from the theory of Gel’fand and Neumark. We construct the states for mesons and baryons and compute the integral kernel which enables us to couple meson and baryon representations to an invariant vertex. There are no troubles with the unitarity of theS-matrix in this model.

  10. We shall use this notation throughout. The starting multiplet is the smallest representation of the maximally compact subgroup contained in the unitary representation ofSL 6.C. It is uniquely determined by the parametersm k.

  11. The notations «maximally degenerate representation» and «tower representations» are probably equivalent.
