Abstract
Ten strains belonging to five species of EuropeanArmillaria (Fr.:Fr.) Staude were examined for their ability to produce laccase, lignin peroxidase, manganese-dependent peroxidase and manganese-independent peroxidase. No lignin peroxidase activity was observed in any of the strains. Manganese-dependent peroxidase production by all tested strains was low. Difference in the ratio of laccase to manganese-independent peroxidase in strains ofA. gallica in comparison to all other species was detected.
